Remote Attendance at Annual General Meeting

With State government passing legislation to allow remote attendance and voting at General Meetings, coupled with the Club's Guiding Philosophy commitment to have diverse, engaged and contributing Members, the Board has explored various avenues available to provide more Members with the opportunity to attend General Meetings and involve more Members in the voting process.

Vero Voting, the same organisation engaged to administer online voting for Office Bearer elections for several years, has provided a solution to facilitate remote attendance and voting at the next Annual General Meeting on Sunday 14 December 2025.

Next week, all Members with a registered email address will receive a link to allow them to attend the meeting online. Members who choose to attend this way will be sent a link and be recorded on the attendance register. Those Members eligible to vote, will be also able to cast their vote on matters proposed in the meeting agenda. This includes voting on the motions to be brought before Members at the meeting.

Please keep an eye on your spam / junk folder in case the link to the meeting is filtered there in the first instance.

To those Members attending in person, a reminder the 2025 Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 14 December at 10:30am in the Clubhouse.

The Annual Report has been emailed or posted to all Members and includes the agenda for the meeting. A digital copy can also be accessed by clicking here.

A Member Information Session is also planned for Tuesday 9 December to answer any questions Members may have on the proposed funding arrangement for the Replacement of the Irrigation SystemClick here to register via the timesheet created under Member Education.

Rules Corner - Test Your Knowledge

Last week we asked...

"Alex's ball comes to rest on the first green. Alex marks the ball, lifts it and puts it into his pocket. When it is his turn to putt, he takes it out of his pocket but accidentally drops it onto the green. Because it was so near to where he was supposed to replace it, he just rolled it with his putter onto the correct spot. He then removed his ball marker and putted it into the hole. What is the ruling? "

This one was clearly a little tricky — only 16% of you answered correctly!

How you Voted

  • 47% chose D – Two-stroke penalty for testing the green

  • 30% chose A – Alex has done nothing wrong

  • 7% chose B – Alex must retrieve the ball, replace it correctly, then add one stroke

  • 16% chose C - Alex gets a one-stroke penalty for incorrect replacement, ball is holed

Correct Answer: C – Alex gets a one-stroke penalty for incorrect replacement, ball is holed.

Interpretation Replace/1 - Ball May Not Be Replaced with a Club. For a ball to be replaced in a right way, it must be set down and let go. This means the player must use his or her hand to put the ball back in play on the spot it was lifted or moved from. For example, if a player lifts his or her ball from the putting green and sets it aside, the player must not replace the ball by rolling it to the required spot with a club. If he or she does so, the ball is not replaced in the right way and the player gets one penalty stroke under Rule 14.2b(2) (How Ball Must Be Replaced) if the mistake is not corrected before the stroke is made.

Lucas shared some of his experience “The conditions were extremely tough, hot, humid, and rainy, which made every round a real challenge. I also had the chance to meet and play alongside golfers from different countries, which made the experience even more enjoyable and motivating. Despite everything, I stayed focused, managed my game well, and am proud of how I performed. It was a great learning opportunity.”
