Congratulations Nicole Martino 

Please join us in congratulating Nicole Martino on her appointment as General Manager of Wembley Golf Complex.
 
Nicole commenced her role as Golf Manager at The Western Australian Golf Club in March 2021 having previously worked in a part time role in golf operations through 2019 and 2020. Nicole has been a committed employee of the Club often going above the requirements of her role to ensure golf services and operations are carried out smoothly and above the standards required.
 
As a PGA Member, Nicole has been a fantastic mentor to Heidi Pearce through the first year of her PGA Associate qualification.
 
Nicole’s last day will be Friday 19 December and whilst the recruitment process is already underway, it is likely there will be a gap between then and the new Golf Manager’s commencement date and we appreciate your patience through this period.
 
Please be sure to pass on your well wishes to Nicole when you see her around the Club.

Notice of Annual General Meeting 

The 2025 Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 14 December at 10:30am in the Clubhouse.

The Annual Report has been emailed or posted to all Members and includes the agenda for the meeting. A digital copy can also be accessed by clicking here.

We also invite all Members to attend the upcoming Member Education Evening on Tuesday 9 December, which will focus on the planned Replacement of the Irrigation System. This session will provide Members with detailed information about the project and an opportunity to ask questions. Click here to register via the timesheet created under Member Education.

Rules Corner - Test Your Knowledge

Alex's ball comes to rest on the first green. Alex marks the ball, lifts it and puts it into his pocket. When it is his turn to putt, he takes it out of his pocket but accidentally drops it onto the green. Because it was so near to where he was supposed to replace it, he just rolled it with his putter onto the correct spot. He then removed his ball marker and putted it into the hole.

Blitz Golf is Back! 

We are pleased to advise Members that Blitz Golf will once again be hosted at The Western Australian Golf Club. Following the success of last year’s event, this innovative and fast-paced format of the game will return to our course, offering an exciting sporting experience for participants and spectators alike.

Blitz Golf presents a modern take on traditional golf, featuring:

• Short, rapid 6-hole rounds
• Head-to-head elimination play
• A vibrant event atmosphere with entertainment and activations suitable for all ages

Event Details

• Date: Sunday 4 January
• Time: 4:00pm – 7:30pm (Gates open 3:00pm. First official ball struck at 4:00pm.)
• Duration: Approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes

The 2025 Australian PGA Championship is currently taking place at the prestigious Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane.  The event once again has an impressive lineup of local and international talent, including WAGC’s Haydn Barron, and can be viewed on Kayo/Foxtel.

Junior Membership Program & Wind Up

The 2025 Junior Membership Program is drawing to a close and to celebrate the end of the year we are excited to invite all of our Junior Membership Program participants (members aged 18 and under in one of the following categories: Junior, 5 Day U21, 6 Day U21, Full U21) and our Junior Girls Scholarship Program participants to the wind up on Saturday 6 December. 
 
Final sessions for 2025:

• Saturday 29 November
• Girls Scholarship Program 1:45pm-2:45pm
• Junior Membership Program 3:00-4:00pm
• Saturday 6 December
• Girls Scholarship Program 1:45pm-2:45pm
